a short bio
Hi fellow book lover. Like you, I love to read. As a mother and home educator, I find myself reading a lot of children's books. I love picture books and chapter books. I also like reading middle grade novels. Some of my favorite authors and illustrators from childhood are Ezra Jack Keats, Gyo Fujikawa, Tommy De Paola, and Lois Lowery. My new favorites include Andrea Davis Pinkney, Kate DiCamillo, Christopher Paul Curtis, and Patricia McKissack.
One of my favorite book is Hittite Warrior by Joanne Williamson. I also like Sugar by Jewell Parker Rhodes and One Crazy Summer by Rita Williams Garcia.
I hope to write books as good as many of the ones I have read. The writing bug bit me as a child, and I often used flowery word pictures, heavy laden with imagery. I even won contests in middle and high school. The only passion that competed with writing for my attention was my love for the theatre. So when I applied to college, NYU's Dramatic Writing program was my first choice. I received my BFA in 1998. Although, I have published many articles for periodicals and websites, I have not jumped into fiction writing full force... until now.
Now that I have shared some of the authors and books that have inspired me, let me share my work:
